Event Progress Report 14
So far I have not included any images of Shakespeare in my renderings. I have perused a lot of Shakespeare related materials (books, posters etc) and they very often have some rendering of his face. I think this approach has merit, especially because his face is so recognizable, but I want to take this another direction. The focus of my graphic explorations will try to be on the park and play up the experience of seeing Shakespeare there. The focus will be Shakespeare in the park , not Shakespeare.
That said, I have been playing around with using a book as a way to represent Shakespeare. Like in my last example, you see a book with a park coming out of it. (*ha) I wanted to see what this would look like with some photography instead and the result is below. I don't know how I feel about it, but it's another facet of this book/park idea. I think next will be a more typographic approach with color as thew driving factor. We'll see.
